Make Your Own at Home: Exfoliating & Hydrating Mask

For when you skin needs a little boost! So gentle you can use as often as you need!

This easy to make mask is gently exfoliating, hydrating, nourishing & protecting, which is suited and beneficial for all skin types.

Tips for congested skin prone to clogged pores or pimples.

Avoid using products that strip the skin of all the skins natural oils, causing a tight, dehydrated feeling after cleansing your face.

If you do have oily areas, your skin may then over-produce oil.

Tips for dry, irritated, itchy and or inflamed skin.

Dry skin can feel uncomfortably tight. The drier it is the rougher and/or flakier it becomes. Dry skin is lacking natural skin oil (sebum), which makes it more susceptible to premature aging.

Tips for sensitive skin

Plant oils can be very useful for sensitive skin. Very sensitive skin can try one plant oil at a time and build up to a blend of oils. Being able to break a product down into its individual ingredients is a very useful tool for extreme sensitivities/allergies, this is impossible to do with creams or lotions.

By using a truly natural plant oil blend, you can benefit from the key ingredients and eliminate fillers, emulsifiers & preservatives, (waterless products do not need preservatives) and other undesirables such as colours and fragrances.

Apricot kernel oil (Prunus armenica)

Apricot kernel oil is rich in oleic acid (an omega 9) and linoleic acid (an omega 6), also small amounts of palmitic acid, stearic acid, palmitoliec acid, alpha linoleic acid, eicosenoic acid.

Fairly light fairly and easily absorbed for an oleic acid rich oil thanks to it also being rich in linoleic acid, and low in saturated fatty acids. It is lacking in alpha linoleic acid (an omega 3), however this is easily remedied by blending with alpha linolenic rich oils.

Supercritical CO2 Botanical Extracts

Supercritical CO2 botanical extracts are obtained from the plant material using Carbon dioxide. This method is often described as 'gentle' as it allows for a wide range of active chemical compounds to be extracted without the risk of heat degradation or exposure to potentially toxic solvents.
